DURAGCAT

Put it on at ten in the evening. Nobody around here has seen the top of my head since.

ENGRAVED ON THE CHAIN soon
Durag Cat taking the durag off ONE TAKE, NO RETAKES

THE ONLY TIME IT COMES OFF

Two seconds, so you can see what a month of putting it on every single night actually does. Then it goes straight back on.

OUT ALL DAY

Same pier, same three stops, in the same order, since the summer it stopped raining.

The bench faces the water and gets sun until four. I did not choose it, I just got there first and stayed.

The arcade owes me nothing and I owe it about six hundred coins. We call it even every summer.

I hold the ball. I have never once thrown it. Holding it is the position I play.

It is not a hat

A hat sits on you. This works on you, quietly, all night, and you wake up better than you went to sleep.

The waves take weeks

Nothing about this is fast. You put it on every night for a month before anybody says a word about it.

Then somebody says something

And you say it is nothing. And you go straight home and put it on again.

DURAG CAT Still on the boardwalk. Still not taking it off.
